The MotoGP Paddock gathered on the start/finish line on Sunday morning for a minute’s silence in memory of the Japanese rider. You can watch a video tribute to Shoya here.

In memory of Shoya Tomizawa

On Sunday morning at the Motorland Aragón circuit the MotoGP Paddock assembled to pay its respects to Japanese rider Shoya Tomizawa, who passed away two weeks ago at Misano.

The sun was shining down as Shoya’s Technomag-CIP team placed his bike on the starting grid and a minute’s silence was then held in honour of the 19 year-old, whose number 48 has been retired from the Moto2 World Championship and whose family will receive the Michel Metraux Trophy at the next round at Motegi.

In the attached video you can observe the tribute to Shoya, which also includes some of the popular rider’s best moments in the MotoGP Paddock.

Over the past fortnight motogp.com has received more than 16,000 messages of support and condolence from around the world for the family, friends and team of Shoya.
